Gift Wrapping

We had fun wrapping gifts at Salvation Army in Santa Rosa today. People donate toys for children whose parents cannot afford to buy Christmas gifts. We put names and tags on the gifts and divide into bins so that the wished toys can be delivered to the children. In Riku’s mind, he had a fixed idea to receive 5 gifts for Christmas but after learning some children receive only one gift, he now thinks he can let go of 2 items and have 3. By next week, it may go down or I am curious how his brain works in this situation.

Community Services by Maki & Riku

Welcome to our blog!

Here you can find out about our floral community services in Sonoma, Petaluma, Napa and whatever other areas we can reach!

I work with flowers and sometimes I have extras in my studio that I don’t know what to do with. So, we visit local hospitals, nursing homes, and hospices and share beautiful flowers with people who live far far away from their friends and families to make them smile.

My wonderful teammate, Riku aged 5 (who wants to start a conversation with everyone on streets, parks, theaters, at the library, etc.) and I just came back from Japan and plan to serve the community once a week after his school….So, we are set to go!

I believe that little things make people feel comfort, peace and happiness and I would like to be a part of a community where I can start doing this. My wish is for my son to know that he can make changes in someone else’s life with his heart, and thinking about others and giving them what he can. Especially, during the holiday season, we will be very busy with our services and we appreciate any suggestions, comments and ideas you have. Please write us and join us in future!

Happy Thanksgiving!
